GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) - A job fair in the city next week is looking to add to the Glens Falls region's roster of mail couriers. On Tuesday, March 21, those interested can visit the Glens Falls Post Office at 16 Hudson Ave. from 1-6 p.m. to learn about ways to serve the community. The job fair is part of the USPS' 10-year "Delivering for America" plan, which looks to build a more stable workforce around the country.USPS personnel will be on-hand to answer questions about careers with the post office. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- An Albany man has pleaded guilty in connection with a stabbing death that took place in 2017. According to the indictment, Harris allegedly stabbed 26-year-old Jonathan Weldon in the stomach, causing his death. The stabbing happened on the 300 block of Elk Street in Albany on May 20, 2017.Harris' sentencing is scheduled for April 28. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- On Friday, Elijah Moses, 28, of Albany, was sentenced to a determinate term of 13 years in State Prison. Moses will also serve five years of post-release supervision. Moses was initially arrested along with two other suspects following a shooting on the 600 block of Livingston Avenue in October 2021. As a part of his guilty plea, Moses admitted to possessing a loaded, illegal firearm around the time of the incident. ST. LOUIS - One southern Illinois mayor is leading a push to build a highway that could connect the St. Louis region to many rural parts of the state. FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. - Federal investigators seized $24,000 in a suspected cryptocurrency scam that targeted at least one Metro East resident. No criminal charges have been filed as of Friday, and no suspect information is available. Top story: Mishandled evidence leads to murder case dismissal According to court records, a woman contacted the O’Fallon Police Department in June 2022 to report she was a victim of fraud in a cryptocurrency scam. One month prior, the victim had communicated with a Twitter account unbeknownst to her, which was impersonating a cryptocurrency influencer.The fraudster instructed her to deposit more than $32,000 worth of Bitcoin into a “3Twarriorstrading.com” account. By the time the victim realized the website was a scam, she could not retrieve the cryptocurrency.While the victim lost around $32,000, feds could only recover around $24,000 worth of currency. A woman whose pit bulls attacked and killed an 89-year-old woman pleaded guilty earlier this month to unlawful ownership of a dangerous dog, but she will avoid jail time if she completes the conditions of her agreement with prosecutors.Kayla Mooney must serve 100 hours of public service and enroll in a dog ownership class and avoid owning a dog for one year. After the first year, she may only have one dog, weighing less than 20 pounds, in the house for a two-year period, Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Brionna Boatright said.Charges are pending against Victor Bentley, who also was charged in connection with the dog attack, Boatright said.Mary Gehring, 89, and her 12-year-old grandson were attacked by the two dogs Sept. 14 in the 15000 block of West First Avenue in Golden.
