MCA scores show students still struggling academically post-pandemic

Minnesota students still have not recovered academically from the learning they lost during the coronavirus pandemic when classes moved online, according to the latest results from state proficiency tests.Results from the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments, or MCAs, released Thursday by the state Department of Education show fewer than half of public school students are meeting grade-level benchmarks in reading, math and science.Overall, math scores saw a modest 0.7 percentage point uptick with 45.5 percent of students meeting grade-level proficiency measures. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A traffic stop in Albany led to the arrest of an Albany man on felony gun charges. Nazair Joseph, 23, faces several charges. On Wednesday, around 9:18 p.m., Albany County Sheriff's Office deputies tried pulling over a car near Second Avenue at O'Connell Street for vehicle and traffic violations. Deputies say the car fled the area, leading them on a short chase until the driver got out and ran from them.The driver, identified as Joseph, was taken into custody on Russell Sage College property. Through an investigation, deputies say they found a loaded Taurus 9mm handgun inside the car. MADISON COUNTY, Ill. - There is an active police presence in Madison County, Illinois, where a stolen Washington Park police car was recovered.It's understood that the Washington Park Police SUV was found at Route 162 and Horseshoe Lake Road. The Illinois State Police are at the scene, trying to piece together the facts of what exactly took place.This all started about 11:00 p.m. It's believed that someone stole a Washington Park Police SUV, which was discovered at the location later.
