Applications open for Glens Falls GEM Fest bands GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) - The Shirt Factory's annual Glens Falls Entertainment & Music (GEM) Festival brings local art and music together in the heart of town every year. This week, the festival has opened applications for bands to join in on the music in 2023. Get all of the latest news, weather, sports, and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! GEM Fest has made its home at the Shirt Factory since 2021, after having first taken place at City Park before the COVID-19 pandemic. The festival marries local and regional bands with the talents of the artists who call the Glens Falls and Lake George region home. Applications are open now for GEM Fest's 2023 band list. Bands are asked to submit a recorded track for consideration, stage plot plan, as well as basic information such as name and genre. Ballston Spa HS Science Olympiad team headed to states BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Ballston Spa High School Science Olympiad team is headed to the New York State competition. The local tournament took place at Ballston Spa High School in February. Eighteen teams from across the Capital Region competed. The Ballston Spa team won medals in 19 out of 23 events including first place in five of them. Yet another atmospheric river is taking shape and preparing to slam the state. During a press briefing Monday, state climatologist Michael Anderson said after a few days of clear weather late this week, another atmospheric river – or even two – are forecast to hit California between Sunday and Wednesday. The impacted area, Anderson said, would likely be large, from the San Francisco Bay Area through metropolitan Los Angeles and all the way south to San Diego.
