DEAR TRAVEL TROUBLESHOOTER: British Airways canceled my flight from Baltimore to London in 2020. The airline sent me an email that said I could either get a refund or a flight credit and that I had until the end of this year to decide.Christopher Elliott, the Travel Troubleshooter However, after calling British Airways numerous times, they claim they don’t have any record of the flight.I paid for this flight with a combination of miles and cash. I’d like a refund of my 150,000 points as well as the $770 in taxes. Can you help me?— Louis Hyman, BaltimoreANSWER: It’s highly unusual for an airline to lose a reservation like this. But a look at your correspondence suggests that’s exactly what happened. You had a ticket, and then British Airways somehow lost it. Now the airline wants to keep your points and the cash you paid for other taxes and fees.Normally, you would be able to send British Airways proof of your reservation, and it would then fix the ...Downtown San Jose housing project may sprout near Google village site

(NEXSTAR) – Thanksgiving 2023 is already shaping up to be an especially frustrating one for lots of Americans, and that’s before they find out the stuffing has raisins in it.This year, AAA predicts that approximately 55.4 million Americans will be traveling at least 50 miles to get to Thanksgiving dinner, the vast majority of whom — 49.13 million — will be taking the journey by car, according to the organization's latest projections. That would make it the busiest Thanksgiving travel season since 2019, and the third-busiest (after 2005 and 2019) since AAA started posting its forecasts in 2000. Pedestrian deaths are spiking across the country: Why? With millions of motorists sharing the country’s busiest travel corridors in the days around Thanksgiving, it’s inevitable that many will get stuck in traffic for at least a portion of the trip. But drivers can reduce their chances of frustrating delays with a bit of forethought and flexibility, according to AAA.AAA used data from INRIX,...Oakland PD reminds residents to use Safe Exchange Zone

Do we need to evacuate to the south or not? The F-16s did not leave the sky, the bombing did not stop, the live ammunition was very close. The sky was foggy, gas bombs and white phosphorus filled the sky. It was hard for us to even breathe. Our job is to document the war, to let the world know what is happening. How could we leave? For hours, we asked the question. I had a headache from overthinking. “What if they kill us? What if they arrest us?” one guy asked. “I am not leaving, I prefer dying here,” another said. “We should leave, we have kids and families.”“We did everything we can. We reported everything.” Despite the sound of the bombs, I urged myself to sleep. I wondered if this might be my last night in the off...Latest news
