My wife promptly cashed the Q-K of trumps. When East discarded, she took the ace and then started the diamonds. West ruffed the second diamond, and the defense took the jack of spades and ace of clubs. Down one.”“You were upset?” I asked.“No. I commiserated with my wife like a good English professor. I said ‘there, their, they’re’.”BAD BREAKSThere is an easy way South can guard against bad breaks and prevent the defense from getting their four tricks. Maryland officials urge Medicaid recipients to renew coverage ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Maryland officials announced a public awareness campaign on Thursday to remind Medicaid recipients to renew their coverage since the federal government is reinstating a requirement that existed before the COVID-19 pandemic for states to verify eligibility. The announcement came on the same day that the nation’s COVID-19 health emergency was ending.Maryland officials are calling it a “Medicaid Check-in” for the nearly 1.8 million Medicaid participants in the state who need to reapply for benefits during what’s known as the redetermination period, which began in April and runs through May 2024.“It may be a simple message, but for many it’s a challenging, complex topic,” said Maryland Health Secretary Laura Herrera Scott. “We form this coalition on this stage in the hope that no Marylander loses their health coverage because they were not aware that it’s time to reapply or reassess your eligibility for coverage.”The awareness campaign is a joint effort ...

The Jets will make six prime-time appearances and have four games in the Sunday afternoon late window (4:25 p.m. ET).“Navigating the process was largely about Aaron and his future,” Fox EVP, Head of Strategy and Analytics Mike Mulvihill said. “There’s always a lot of focus on marquee quarterbacks that could change teams. And that was certainly the case this year.”For the second straight year, ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” gets a marquee QB making his debut with another team when the Jets host the Buffalo Bills on Sept. 11.
