Intel assessment: Multiple countries tried to meddle in 2022 election By Katie Bo Lillis | CNNForeign government efforts to target the 2022 US midterm elections appeared to grow compared with the 2018 elections, according to a declassified intelligence assessment released Monday, with a “diverse and growing group of foreign actors” participating. There was no known order from any foreign leader to “undertake a comprehensive, whole-of-government influence campaign” like the one Russia carried out in 2016, according to the report. Virginia Tech professor urges parents to be vigilant about ‘smart’ toys It’s toy-buying season, and internet-connected toys are on a lot of kids’ lists. Is there a privacy policy for the child? Where is the data being sent?”Wertalik said it’s not about “freaking parents out,” but rather encouraging them to be vigilant and aware about how tech toys collect data and how that data is being utilized. She said parents should check the back of a toy box or the toy maker’s website for the privacy policy and see how they can opt out of data collection. If a company does not have a transparent privacy policy and parental safety controls, she said those are red flags.Sh...
