DENVER (KDVR) -- The U.S. Board on Geographic Names officially renamed Mount Evans to Mount Blue Sky during the Council of Geographic Names Authorities conference Friday afternoon.The name change was years in the making and gained traction in 2020 as part of a widespread movement to address past atrocities. DENVER (KDVR) -- The Aurora Police Department said an Arapahoe County man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly drove toward 20 children on their way to school in Aurora.On Tuesday morning, police received multiple reports of a gold Holda Pilot driving recklessly, nearly striking children near Aqua Vista Park. Wagon Trail Cir., at around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.The footage shows the driver nearly hitting one child crossing the street. A South Florida commissioner is speaking out after he was arrested and charged and arrested on money laundering and bribery charges. Broward Sheriff’s Office robbery detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying two thieves who allegedly threatened a store employee with a firearm during a robbery.According to BSO, the incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. on Thursday when two masked men entered the 7-Eleven store at 5890 North Andrews Avenue in Oakland Park.Approaching the cashier, investigators said, one of the subjects motioned toward what appeared to be a gun handle, threatening to shoot the employee if she didn’t empty the cash registers. Five people are being treated for injuries following an officer-involved crash in Northwest Miami-Dade. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews responded to the scene, located at the intersection of Northwest 135th Street and 17th Ave., just before 4 p.m., Friday. 7Skyforce hovered over the scene where a police vehicle and a red SUV were seen visibly damaged.MDFR officials could be seen treating the officer and a woman on the scene. The condition of those injured is unknown at this time. A Duxbury mother accused of killing her three children in January has been indicted on multiple charges, the Plymouth County DA announced.A grand jury charged 32-year-old Lindsay Clancy with three counts each of murder and strangulation on Friday. Clancy reportedly attempted suicide on Jan. 24 at her home at 47 Summer Street, and first responders found her three children in the basement with severe trauma.Prosecutors said Clancy strangled her children with exercise bands while her husband was out picking up dinner. According to court documents, her husband found her injured outside on the ground after investigators said she jumped from a window.The 5-year-old girl and 3-year-old boy died of asphyxia, and the eight-month old boy died a few days later at the hospital of complication of asphyxia.Clancy is currently held without bail and is being treated as a medical facility. Hurricane Lee continues its northward journey. The center of the storm will continue to stay offshore. The Mid/Outer Cape and Nantucket will experience the biggest impacts from the storm, while inland there will be less of an impact. This will be a 12-hour storm with timing from midnight to midday tomorrow.As of the latest 5 pm update, Lee is still a category 1 storm. The center is about 290 miles southeast of Nantucket. The storm has picked up forward speed. Over the next 24 hours, it will continue to weaken and veer toward Nova Scotia. The center of the storm stays well to our east, but the impacts will reach Southern New England.We saw thickening cloud cover today from Lee. Rain arrives for Cape Cod and Nantucket tonight. Rain continues overnight there and along the coast as the western edge of the storm backs in across southern New England. Rain favors the Cape and Nantucket through the morning.
