2 hospitalized in shooting outside Hyde Park car wash At least two people were hospitalized after gunfire erupted outside of a car wash in Hyde Park on Thursday night.Officers responded to reports of a shooting on the 6400 block of S. West and Hyde Park Boulevards around 6:30 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.When authorities arrived at the scene, they found two people wounded. Both victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Their conditions remain unknown. Over 20 Marshall Fire victims sue Xcel Energy SUPERIOR, Colo. (KDVR) — A lawsuit has been filed against Xcel Energy on behalf of more than 20 Marshall Fire victims.Thursday morning, Boulder County officials released their findings of an investigation into the cause and origin of the fire, finding two separate fires combined to form the fire.One of those fires was likely caused by a damaged Xcel power line, according to Sheriff Curtis Johnson. That's a reason attorneys think that have a reason to file a claim."Xcel Energy is liable for the fire," attorney Ben Petiprin said, "and we intend to hold them responsible for all of our clients' damages."At 86, starting over after the Marshall FireJacki Kramer lost everything in the fire and is now being represented by Petiprin's firm. The 86-year-old said it was reassuring to hear causes and origins had been identified.She says she was significantly underinsured and believes Xcel should foot the bill. “They’re a good company, they’re a big company, they can afford it,” sh...

(KDVR) — People are still struggling with the aftermath of the Marshall Fire since it destroyed more than $2 billion of property in 2021. In July 2022, Superior homeowner Adam Ciesielski showed FOX31 an empty lot where his home of 10 years was destroyed. “It's 900 grand to rebuild something that I bought eight years ago for a third of that price," Ciesielski said at the time.Adam Ciesielski lost his dream home in the Marshall Fire. Then, he suffered another blow when crews removed the foundation where he planned to rebuild. (AP) — Oregon has long been known as a mecca for high-quality marijuana, but that reputation has come with a downside: illegal growers who offer huge amounts of cash to lease or buy land and then leave behind pollution, garbage and a drained water table. Now, a bill passed by the Oregon Legislature seeks to tackle that by making the landowners themselves responsible for the aftermath. The bill also prohibits the use of rivers or groundwater at the illegal site, as well as criminalizes seizing the identity papers of migrant workers who tend the plants or threatening to report them for deportation.Under the bill, local governments are authorized to file a claim of lien against property used for illicit marijuana, if the owner doesn’t pay for the cleanup.
