AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin-Travis County EMS took four people to Dell Seton Medical Center Sunday night after a nine car crash in the 1400 to 2100 block of E Anderson Ln., according to a tweet from the agency.Two of those transported by ATCEMS are teenagers, and the other two are adults. ATCEMS said that all four have non-life-threatening injuries.In total, 22 people were in the involved vehicles. Police in Redlands shot a 57-year-old man, authorities announced Sunday. The incident occurred April 8, at around 10 a.m., when Redlands Police Department officers responded to reports of a disturbance outside of a restaurant at the Mountain Grove shopping center, located in 27500 block of San Bernardino Avenue. “Officers contacted the man who was acting aggressive and erratic and refused to comply with officers’ orders,” a Redland PD news release stated. “When the man made an aggressive movement toward them, officers fired one shot, hitting the suspect in the leg.” Paramedics with the Redlands Fire Department responded to the scene and treated the man before he was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Further investigation into the unidentified man revealed that he “is a suspect in an earlier murder in Riverside County,” police said. OAKLAND — One person was fatally shot and another was injured in separate shootings Sunday near the city’s Lake Merritt and in a west Oakland neighborhood, authorities said.Shortly after 6 p.m., police responded to calls reporting a possible shooting in the 500 block of Bellevue Avenue near the lake.When officers arrived, they found evidence of an apparent shooting but no sign of an injured person or damaged building or vehicle.Soon after, officers learned a person suffering from a gunshot wound managed to get a ride to a hospital for treatment. That victim was later listed in stable condition, police said.Shortly before 7:20 p.m., police learned of a possible injury shooting near 32nd Street and San Pablo Avenue, and officers arrived to find a victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound.Despite emergency life-saving care provided by officers, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. CONCORD — A California Highway Patrol officer was hospitalized after a vehicle struck her during a weekend enforcement stop on a busy highway, authorities said.In a statement posted Sunday to social media, the CHP said the officer had stopped a Chevrolet on the right shoulder of southbound Highway 242 lanes just south of Highway 4, and was standing near the Chevrolet at 8:22 p.m. Saturday.Moments later, a Mercedes traveling southbound veered off the road and into the Chevrolet, causing it to hit the officer.
