AUSTIN (KXAN) – If you’re looking for a sweet deal on National Ice Cream Day, the Museum of Ice Cream has got you covered. President Ronald Reagan designated July National Ice Cream Month in 1984 and the third Sunday of the month National Ice Cream Day, according to the International Dairy Foods Association. “I call upon the people of the United States to observe these events with appropriate ceremonies and activities,” Reagan said in his proclamation on the matter. AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man convicted of killing a north Austin ice cream man in 2020 was sentenced to serve 25 years in state prison on May 25, according to Travis County court documents.Court records showed 23-year-old Jermaine Jones originally pleaded guilty to capital murder by terror threat/other felony. LOUIS - A new report citing FBI data and Census Bureau figures named two St. Louis suburbs among the Top 50 "safest cities in the U.S." Visual Capitalist, a website that specializes in financial investment research, released a report earlier this week naming the top 100 safest cities around the nation. ST. LOUIS - A jury convicted a man of felony charges Friday afternoon in a 2017 St. Louis murder case. Ollie Lorenzo Lynch, Jr., 28, was found guilty of first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of Jeramee Ramey, 31, on May 25, 2017. Ramey was killed in the 4400 block of Red Bud Avenue in St. Louis' O'Fallon neighborhood. According to previous FOX 2 reports, police say he was shot with an AK-47 during an argument over a dice game. A man from Santa Ana has been arrested for allegedly giving a minor in Moreno Valley illegal substances and then sexually assaulting them. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a residence in Moreno Valley regarding a missing 15-year-old juvenile around 2 a.m. on Friday. One person was killed and at least three others wounded in three unrelated shootings in Antioch late Friday and early Saturday, police said.Officers were downtown when they heard gunshots and observed a crowd of people running near a bar and restaurant on I Street at around 2:11 a.m. Saturday. One man shot multiple times was killed, and at least two others, including a woman found shot on West First Street, were wounded, police said. (KRON) -- Six people were injured after a large tree toppled over at a park in Santa Rosa, according to the Santa Rosa Fire Department. VIDEO: Encampment fire sparks on Hwy 101 Fire crews were called to Spring Lake Park at 10:46 a.m. after learning that a tree had come down in the area. One fire engine, one rescue team and one Battalion Chief arrived at the scene with five separate ambulances. SRFD says one person suffered "major" injuries in the incident.
