DENVER (KDVR) -- Two lawsuits have been filed against Gov. Jared Polis and the State of Colorado after multiple gun bills were signed into law on Friday.The Rocky Mountain Gun Owners group is suing over two new laws - one that requires a minimum three-day waiting period before a firearm can be purchased and raising the minimum age to purchase a firearm to 21 years old. The group called the laws "unconstitutional" and is suing on the grounds of the right to bear arms, citing the Supreme Court decision NYSRPA v. Bruen. PARKER, Colo. (KDVR) -- The Douglas County Sheriff's Office said Chaparral High School has been cleared after a bomb threat was investigated Friday afternoon."Students have been evacuated and are gathered in the parking lots," a tweet from DougCo Sheriff's Office said at 12:41 p.m.The sheriff's office confirmed the threat was received via phone call. The school announced early release at 1:15 p.m. and the sheriff's office said students can come pick up their belongings at the school after 3 p.m.This is a breaking story. A suspect has been captured by police after a pursuit ended with him swimming into a canal and fleeing into a South Florida backyard.Law enforcement later identified the suspect as 54-year-old Marc A. Anderson.A Florida Highway Patrol trooper attempted to stop Anderson who is accused of ramming into a trooper in the area of Northwest 103rd Street and 32nd Avenue, Friday morning.At some point, troopers lost sight of the vehicle and called for a Miami-Dade Police helicopter, which was able to locate the truck. 7Skyforce hovered over the scene where Anderson exited a white pickup and fled on foot in the area of Northwest Second Avenue, near at South Biscayne River Drive.During his escape, Anderson jumped into a nearby canal. He then fled into a backyard. Both law enforcement agencies searched for the suspect with K-9 units. A 7-year-old girl faces a long road to recovery after she was attacked by a dog in a Miami Gardens neighborhood.K’lonie Huges spoke with 7News on Friday after she was released from the hospital.She described the moment when she realized she was in danger.“I saw the dog run past me, and then the dog came inside the gate,” she said.Surveillance video captured Huges as she ran from the canine along the 3800 block of Northwest 207th Street Road, Wednesday evening.“I tried to run, but I looked behind me, and the dog was chasing me,” she said, “and then that’s when the dog bit me.”The bites on Huges were serious enough that paramedics airlifted her to Joe DiMaggio’s Children’s Hospital.“She has injuries to her thigh, and she has injuries to her leg,” said her grandmother, Carletha Rodgers.Her left thigh bandaged, Huges is now using crutches to get around.The dog’s owner, Norberto Pass, surrendered his pet to Miami-Dade Animal Services ...NH man appears in court after arrest in connection with Weare explosions that injured passerby

A New Hampshire man appeared in court Friday as he faces charges in connection with accusations that he set off a pair of pipe bombs in the town of Weare earlier this week. Less than a day after his arrest late Thursday afternoon, 54-year-old Dale Stewart Jr. pleaded not guilty and was ordered held after his attorney suggested he undergo a mental health evaluation. Weare police previously said authorities were able to identify a vehicle belonging to a suspect. By 6 p.m. on Thursday, officials said they tracked it down and detained Stewart.Officials said they executed a search warrant on Stewart’s vehicle and his residence, finding one additional fully-constructed pipe bomb in his truck. An investigation got underway this week after multiple armed robberies along the same street in Jamaica Plain. Security cameras captured some of the crimes, which all took place at cell phone stores. As police search for one man in connection with at least one of two robberies in the area, some of the people working at the targeted stores have described their experiences to 7NEWS. “He said ‘Don’t play dumb man. I’m not having a good day. Don’t do anything stupid. (CNN) — One of three teens accused of killing a 20-year-old Colorado woman after hurling a large rock through the windshield of her car snapped a photo “as a memento” of the crime, according to arrest affidavits released Thursday.Alexa Bartell was killed April 19 after her vehicle and several others were struck by rocks, said Jacki Kelley, spokesperson for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities believe at least seven vehicles were hit by large landscaping rocks.The 18-year-old suspects — Joseph Koenig, Nicholas Karol-Chik and Zachary Kwak — were arrested Tuesday on charges of first-degree murder and extreme indifference, according to the sheriff’s office.
